Part 2

_____A month went by and still no sign of Cameron getting any better. Everyone was stressed tremendously, it was really taking a toll on them. Danielle decided that they needed to get out of the house and spend a day away from the hospital. They she took them out to dinner and shopping, hoping it would make everyone feel better. They went to the city and went to the flea market, went to the outlet stores, the mall they had a stress free day. The day was going so well and it was something they all needed. They were actually laughing and smiling for the first time in a month. They were in the Gap getting a bubble vest for Amani when Danielle noticed Amani stop dead in her tracks, she look like she had seen a ghost.
_____ "Oh shit,"Amani whispered.
_____"What,"Danielle said.
_____"It's her,"Amani said, shock turning to anger "It's that bitch that hit Cameron."
_____"Where,"Danielle said looking in the direction Amani was glaring.
_____"Right there the woman trying on the jacket."
_____Danielle looked and saw her. She stared at the woman and was surprised to see that she was actually very pretty. She expected a mean unpleasant looking woman. She was stunned to see that Caroline was very pretty. She was about 5'5 Danielle guessed, with straight dark hair, smooth caramel skin, and a luscious body. Under different circumstances she would have been interested in her.
_____"Hey Amani, didn't I hear you mention before that she was a lesbian?" Danielle asked.
_____"Yeah, she is, but what does that have to do with anything," Amani said still glaring at Caroline.
_____"Well, I am getting an idea."
_____"Yeah, I got an idea, lets go over there and kick her ass." Amani said taking a step towards Caroline.
_____"Wait,"Danielle said, hastily pulling her sister back, she had an idea. "Would she recognize you?"
_____"Yeah, she had the nerve to come over to Cameron's room and ask how she was, the police held me back from fucking her up."
_____"But she wouldn't recognize me, cause she never met me."
_____"Yeah, so?" Amani asked, still looking at Caroline with pure hatred.
_____"So I got an idea,"Danielle said.
_____"Trust me ok, don't say anything to Ma, you have to trust me, I'll explain later, I have to get to her before she leaves." And with that Danielle walked over to Caroline.

Caroline likes the way the jacket fit. She was just starting to get out of the house since the accident. She spent the month since the accident depressed about what happened. She was extremely sorry about what happened. She wanted to go and apologize in person, but the way the girls mother looked at her, and the way the sister tried to attack her, she figured she would do more harm than good. She couldn't remember everything about that night. She was at the stop light humming along to her Lauryn Hill CD and the light turned green and she went. At least that's how she thought it happened. She couldn't actually remember if the light was green or not. She drove out into the intersection and as quick as lightening a car came out of nowhere. She braked as she could, but it was too late.
_____The collision would have thrown her through the window, if she didn't have her seatbelt on. Her airbag came out but she was pretty messed up. She barely managed to crawl out of her car. When she crawled out she lied on the ground for a few seconds. She wanted to get up but her chest and leg hurt too much. She heard someone ask her if she was ok, she tried to speak but she felt like there was a weight on her chest. She heard the sirens in the back round and people telling her not to move.
_____She lied there waiting for the ambulance, but she heard a noise that made her heart stop and her blood run cold. She turned her head and tried to focus her blurry vision on the other car in the accident. She heard the person moaning in agony and she tried to get up. A man held her down telling her to be still, the ambulance was on it's way, but she had to get up to see if she could help the person. She staggered to her feet and stumbled over to the wrecked car. There was a young girl in the car, she was bloody and she looked like she was in an enormous amount of pain.
_____"Don't worry, they are gonna get you out of here, your gonna be ok," Caroline said taking the girls hand and preying she was right.
_____"It hurts," the girl whispered.
_____"I know, but they are gonna get you out of here and your gonna be just fine,"Caroline said desperately. "Please just hang on, the ambulance is here, your gonna be just fine."
_____Caroline said, as the ambulance came screeching to a halt and the efficient paramedics quickly got the girl out the car and on her way to the hospital. The police kept asking her what happened, but her mind was with the girl.
_____She was so sure the light was green when she went but she wasn't completely sure now. Everything was so confusing, the lights were making her dizzy and all the people talking to her at one time only confused her more. She was in pain, but she knew it was nothing compared to the pain that girl was in. Tears burned her eyes and she silently begged God to let that girl live. She looked around at all of the people looking and couldn't help but notice that everyone was looking at her as if she was a murderer. She gave her statement to the police, and the other ambulance took her to the same hospital.
_____She was still pretty disoriented but she was ok. She was pretty bruised and beat up but nothing serious. The doctor gave her medication for the pain, but was hesitant to let her leave. She swore she was feeling up to leaving, and promised to take her medication. She slowly walked out of the hospital room and saw the doctor walking by.
_____"Excuse me, could you tell me how the other girl is?"
_____"Well I'm not supposed to say," the doctor said.
_____"Please," Caroline pleaded she had to know the girl was ok.
_____"Please...is she ok? She's gonna be ok right,"Caroline said desperately.
_____"Well...,"The doctor said, seeing the woman really needed to know.
_____"She slipped into a coma when she arrived, the paramedics did an excellent job of keeping her alive, but when she got here...too much head trauma...she's in a coma."
_____Caroline felt numb, she couldn't feel anything, but she felt everything. The doctors words sunk in and she couldn't stop the tears that flowed. The doctor suggested that she stay the night, but she insisted. On her way out, she passed the room of the girl. The only way she knew it was her room, is because of the police outside the door, and there was a girl about 18 or 19 standing there crying, she looked just like her sister. Caroline slowly walked over, not sure what she was doing. She couldn't stand to see the girl crying, great heart wrenching sobs. She kept saying.
_____"Please wake up Cameron, Please wake up."
_____The girl didn't notice Caroline until Caroline was next to her. She looked at Caroline through red tear filled eyes.
_____"I..." Caroline didn't know what to say. Words were inadequate and she knew it wouldn't help, but she had to try.
_____"I am so sorry...I don't know what happened, she came out of nowhere...I'm sorry,"Caroline said sincerely. At first Amani didn't know who was talking to her, but then she realized who it was and her eyes widened and she attacked Caroline
_____"You Fucking Bitch!" Amani said lunging at Caroline. "You did this to my sister!"
_____The only thing that saved Caroline was the quick actions of the police nearby, they pulled an enraged Amani off her.
_____"You fucking bitch! I'm going to get you for this!" Amani screamed trying to break away from the police officers and get back at Caroline.
_____"Get out of here," one of the police officers said, still barely holding on to Amani.
_____Caroline turned around and left.
_____She called the hospital daily to check on Cameron's progress. She fell into a deep despair. She couldn't believe she hurt that girl, she was still in shock. She was deeply depressed, her friends couldn't make her feel better, no one could. Her family called, to let her know they were there for her. She cried for a week straight. She couldn't imagine what the family was going through. In the paper there was a picture of Cameron, a beautiful, lively girl. The paper portrayed her as the woman that almost killed this beautiful person. She received threatening phone calls nightly, it got so bad she changed her number. Her work suffered, she tried to concentrate on her job in an ad agency but the stress was too much, so she took a leave of absence. Her boss understood and told her to just get better. She finally felt well enough to go out, she decided to go shopping, that always made her feel better. She was in the Gap, trying on a nice jacket when the finest woman she had seen off of a TV screen walked up to her.
