Part 3

_____"Looks nice on you," the woman said and Caroline opened her mouth to speak but nothing came out, this woman was fine!
_____She was about 5'6-5'7 smooth caramel complexion and a beautiful smile. Her hair was short and curly, she was basically Caroline's dream woman.
_____"Um, thanks, I was thinking about getting it."
_____"I think you should, your boyfriend will fall out when he sees you."
_____"Uh, I don't have a boyfriend, not interested in men." Caroline was pleased to see this woman's smile widen when she said that.
_____"I see, so your girlfriend...." The woman said waiting for Caroline to finish the sentence.
_____"Uh, no girlfriend either, I am single," Caroline said.
_____"Your too pretty to be single," the woman said.
_____"Uh, um thank you,"Caroline said, tripping over her words , she couldn't believe this woman was flirting with her.
_____"By the way I'm Danielle,"she said reaching out to shake Caroline's hand.
_____"Caroline," she answered, and she absolutely melted when Danielle kissed the back of her hand.
_____"A beautiful name for a beautiful woman," Danielle said, and was pleased to see Caroline melt. Damn this is going to be easier than I thought she thought to herself.
_____"So Caroline, you live around here?"
_____"Uh actually I live about an half hour from here, I just wanted to take a drive and go out today."
_____"Yeah, it's a beautiful day, so what are your plans for tonight?" Danielle asked smoothly.
_____"Well I uh...I don't have any."
_____"No plans? I would think you would be going out, fighting the girls off with a stick," Caroline laughed.
_____"No, not me, not the club type of person, I like quiet nights at home," Caroline said.
_____"Quiet nights at home huh? Well I like quiet nights at home myself, but it gets lonely there by myself," Danielle said, her mind racing how was she going to get an invitation?
_____"Yeah I heard that, it's pretty lonely at my place by myself," Caroline said.
_____"Well here we are, two lonely people...it's not good for people to be lonely, we all need somebody."
_____"I agree," Caroline said.
_____"Well how about this, would you like to keep me company tonight?" Danielle asked.
_____"Uh, um company?"
_____"Yeah, it doesn't make any sense for us to be lonely when we don't live that far apart."
_____"Well I uh..."
_____"Think about it," Danielle said. She pulled out a pen and a piece of paper and wrote her number down and handed it to Caroline.
_____"Please, don't hesitate to use this if your feeling...lonely tonight," Danielle said in her best sexy voice and Caroline's knees damn near gave out. Was this really happening to her?
_____"Ok," Caroline said accepting the number, should she give hers?
_____"Would you think I was being too pushy if I asked for yours?" Danielle asked.
_____"No, not at all," Caroline said writing her number down and giving it to Danielle.
_____"Thank you, I hope I get to see you tonight," Danielle said.
_____"Um, maybe," Caroline said.
_____"Well maybe is better than no," Danielle said with a smile. And Caroline couldn't resist. This was not like her at all, but she couldn't help herself.
_____"Uh, well since we both don't have any plans for the night why don't you come over?"
_____"What time?" Danielle said quickly, hoping she wouldn't change her mind.
_____"Around 8?"
_____"8 it is."
_____She got her address and told her she was looking forward to seeing her tonight.

_____"What the fuck was that," Amani said still not believing Danielle actually talked to that woman and worst of all exchanged numbers.
_____"Cmon, lets get Ma and I'll explain later," Danielle said.
_____When they got home their mother said she was tired and going to head up to bed. They both kissed her on the cheek and said goodnight. When they heard her door close Amani immediately demanded to know what was going on.
_____"I have a plan," Danielle said.
_____"What kind of plan."
_____"Well since it looks like the police aren't gonna put her in jail for what she did, I think we can get her back in a different way."
_____"What way?"
_____"Let's just say a broken heart can sometimes be as bad as jail."
_____"Broken heart?" Amani echoed confused.
_____"Yeah, I am going to make this woman fall in love with me, it won't be hard."
_____"Yeah so, and then what?"
_____"She doesn't know Cameron is my sister. I am going to act like I am really interested in her, and when she is crazy in love with me, I am gonna tell her who I am, tell her what I think of what she did to Cameron and a couple of choice words and leave her ass."
_____"Oh shit," Amani said amazed that Danielle could even think of something like that, she was always the peaceful and nicest of the sisters. This was totally unlike her. She thought that Danielle wasn't as upset as her about what happened to Cameron because she didn't curse or show too much emotion, but she realized that Danielle was as outraged as she was but she had a different way of showing it.
_____"Damn Danielle, that's some wicked shit."
_____"I know, but our sister is in a coma because of her, it's her fault, she needs to pay for what she did."
_____"She damn sure does," Amani said.
_____"Physical scars fade, but emotional scars are always there, and I want her to feel what we feel, and when I'm through with her, she is gonna wish she never hurt my sister."
_____Amani sat there is shock, she never saw this side of Danielle before, it made her glad that she wasn't the person Danielle wanted revenge on. Danielle got up and headed for the shower.
_____'Where are you going?"
_____"To take a shower, I've got a date tonight."

It was almost 8 and Caroline was nervous, she cooked a big dinner and got some wine, she was ready. When the doorbell rang she went over to answer it and her breath caught in her throat when she saw how good Danielle looked. Damn she wasn't imagining her.
_____Danielle had on a crème colored suit, with flowers in her hand. She knew she looked good, and from the look on Caroline's face she thought she looked good too. She handed the flowers to Caroline and was pleased to see her eyes light up.
_____"You got me flowers?" Caroline said shocked.
_____"Well I thought you would like them," Danielle said.
_____," I love them," Caroline said "Dinner will be ready in a minute."
_____"It smells delicious."
_____"Well I hope it tastes as good as it smells."
_____They ate dinner and had a great conversation. They talked about their families, Danielle of course didn't talk about Cameron but she talked about her mother and her younger sister. Caroline talked freely, feeling very comfortable talking to Danielle. The were like old friends catching up with each other. Before they knew it, it was midnight.
_____"Damn, where did the time go?" Danielle asked she really couldn't believe there were talking for that long, just enjoying each others company. In spite of herself she found herself liking Caroline. She was open, friendly and funny. She liked everything about her, she was very pretty, had a beautiful smile, a wonderful body but one thing Danielle noticed about her was her eye's. They were a light brown, but since she spent so much time looking into Caroline's eyes that night she saw something deeper, something Caroline didn't want her to see.
_____ The more she looked into Caroline's eyes she tried to think of the word that would describe what she saw. But she couldn't, then suddenly it came to her. Caroline's eyes were sad, she smiled and laughed, but her eyes always looked so sad. Caroline disguised it well, but Danielle was determined to break down her barriers. I wonder why her eyes look so sad Danielle thought to herself.
_____"Well I guess I should get going," Danielle said standing to leave.
_____"I had a great time tonight," Caroline said sincerely.
_____"Me too," Danielle said, and she was surprised to realize she meant it, she did have a good time.
_____"We have to do it again sometime," Caroline said.
_____"How about tomorrow," Danielle said quickly.
_____"What do you have in mind?"
_____"Well we could have a picnic, or we could go to an amusement park, movie, it doesn't matter, I just have to see you," Danielle said.
_____Caroline really couldn't believe her luck, this was the woman of her dreams and she was practically begging to go out with her. She had been alone for months, she was lonely, and she loved being with Danielle.
_____"Ok we can go on a picnic tomorrow and go from there" Caroline said and her heart stopped when she saw the wide smile on Danielle's face.
_____'Thank you," Danielle said and leaned over and kissed Caroline softly on the cheek.

When Danielle left, Caroline was on cloud nine. She was actually excited, and looking forward to their picnic tomorrow. She couldn't wait. After Nia left six months ago, she hadn't really gone out at all. She wanted to focus on her job, she made good money and all but her job couldn't hold her at night and her job couldn't make love to her when she needs it the most. She really liked Danielle, and she was looking forward to seeing more of her.
_____The next day was wonderful. Danielle came to get her bright and early and they had a ball in the park. They played games and talked some more. They ate their picnic lunch and then Caroline challenged Danielle to a game of basketball. Danielle laughed, she was pretty good and she thought Caroline had no chance of beating her. She had a ball in the trunk of her car, Amani left in there after they had a pickup game. They went to the court and they shot for ball. Caroline missed and Danielle got it in. It was Danielle's ball and she played with Caroline for a while, dribbling in between her legs, switching hands, basically showing off. So she was shocked when Caroline stole the ball and shot it right in her face. Caroline laughed at the shocked look on her face. After that they played to win. Game was 15 and Danielle was winning, she had thirteen and Caroline had twelve. All Caroline needed was a three pointer, she was determined to win. It was Danielle's ball and she was pretty confident she was going to win, all she needed was two points. She did some trash talkin but still kept an eye on Caroline, she didn't forget how she stole the ball. She was talkin trash and before she knew it Caroline had the ball and was shooting the winning three point shot.
_____"How the hell did you do that," Danielle demanded.
_____"You talk to much, didn't pay attention," Caroline said laughing at Danielle's face. She was in a state of shock.

They had been seeing each other for two months and it was hard for Danielle to live two lives. She spent most of her time with Caroline and when she wasn't with her she was with her mother and sister at the hospital. Cameron was still in a coma and the doctors were talking about how she might never come out of it. Danielle wanted to hurt Caroline, but she couldn't help but fall for her. They spent so much time together and Danielle really got to know her. She saw what a loving, caring person Caroline was. It was hard to dislike her. Her plan was to make Caroline fall in love with her, and it was working beautifully. But when the time came to reveal who she really was could she do that to Caroline?

They were in Caroline's apartment relaxing when Caroline decided she had to tell Danielle how she felt about her. She was in love with Danielle and she desperately wanted to tell her, but she knew she had to tell Danielle what happened. She couldn't keep it a secret from her, she had the right to know about it. She didn't want there to be any secrets between them. She loved Danielle and she wanted there to be nothing but the truth between them.
_____"Danielle can we talk?" Caroline asked.
_____"Sure, what's up," Danielle said.
_____"Well I...you...we have been seeing each other for about two months now, and I know this is kind of soon, and I don't want you to think I'm moving to fast...," Caroline stopped and took a deep breath.
_____"But I...I've fallen in love with you," She said, looking at Danielle to see her reaction. When Danielle didn't say anything, panic set in.
_____"I know you don't feel the same way and I don't want to pressure you or anything..." Caroline said in a rush, she felt like a fool. She just completely embarrassed herself.
_____"Shh," Danielle said softly putting her finger over Caroline's hastily moving lips.
_____"It took a lot of courage for you to tell me."
_____'I...I just wanted to get it out there, I mean, I don't expect you to say it now, if you say it, I want it to be because you mean it, not because you feel like you have to."
_____Danielle's emotions were conflicting. This is exactly what she wanted, but it didn't feel right. She knew she was in love with Caroline, but she knew she was going to hurt her.
_____"And before you say anything, I have something to tell you, I was in an car accident a little while ago."
_____"You were?" Danielle said pretending to sound surprised.
_____"Yeah, it was a bad accident. I was driving and a car came out of nowhere and I..." Caroline abruptly stopped talking, her tears choked her.
_____"I hit her," She whispered, tears streaming down her face.
_____It was extremely hard for Danielle to listen to her and see the agony she was in. She wanted to hold and comfort her, but she couldn't.
_____"I...I didn't mean to...I tried to stop, I slammed on my brakes...but it was too late," Caroline sobbed.
_____"I am so sorry... I never meant to hurt anyone."
_____"Were you hurt?"
_____"I was pretty banged up, but I was ok...but the girl..."
_____"The girl?"
_____"The girl driving the car...she was hurt badly, she...she's in a coma now," Caroline said barely able to speak, her sorrow and regret clearly showing.
_____"Every night I pray she will be alright, I pray that she will wake up."
_____"I...I swear I never meant to hurt her, I didn't even see her coming."
_____Caroline was looking so sad, she obviously blamed herself and she was torn up inside, she was a gentle woman that would never hurt anyone and it was tearing her apart. Danielle desperately wanted to comfort her but she couldn't bring herself to.
_____"I'll never forgive myself if Cameron dies."
_____"How do you know her name?"
_____"It was in the paper and on the news, I read the paper everyday and I call the hospital to check up on her. I would go visit, but I don't want to hurt the family anymore than I already have." Caroline sighed. "I'm sorry to dump all of this on you, but I wanted to be completely honest with you, I don't want there to be any secrets between us, I love you Danielle, but I understand if you think I'm a horrible person because of this."
_____"Shh," Danielle said kissing her on the forehead "I don't think you're a horrible person because of it, it was an accident, you didn't mean to hurt her."
_____"I didn't, I swear I didn't, I would do anything to make her better," Caroline said sadly.
_____"Thank you for telling me this, it means a lot to me."
_____"I...I had to tell you...because I love you."
_____Caroline was looking at her with her red, teary, sad eyes and Danielle couldn't lie.
_____"I love you too."
