_____Sweaty, you decide to take a quick, hot shower before seeing Donna. The honey lemon bath gel foams up on your skin, crating a thick, luscious lather. It feels like fingertips lightly stroking and teasing your body. You need to get to Donna quickly or you are going to explode.
_____Toweling off quickly, you slip on a pair of black jeans and a vest. A quick check in the mirror and you are ready to go.
_____You take Donna's necklace off of the dresser. Besides your memories, it is the only thing that still connects you with her. You decide to hold on to it a little while longer--it could lead to a future booty call.
_____As you drive down Ashland Avenue, you begin to have second thoughts. If you show up at Donna's doorstep empty handed, you'll get the door slammed in your face. As luck would have it, a guy peddling roses is holding up traffic. He charges you fifteen dollars for two half dead roses and a stuffed teddy bear. If you had planned ahead, you would have gotten an assortment of truffles from Godiva.
_____During the relationship, you would pick up truffles on the way to her house and Donna would cook something special. After dinner you would cuddle in front of the fireplace and feed chocolates to each other. Those first few weeks were great. Then Donna wanted to get serious and you got the wandering eye. Before you knew it, the relationship had gone to hell. An affair, accusations, animosity--you two would have been great on the Jerry Springer show.
_____You park in front of Donna's house. There is a dull, glowing light in the livingroom, the fireplace must be lit. You pop in a breath mint and pray that Donna's mood has improved.
_____Donna answers the door with her chocolate brown body tightly wrapped in a white robe. She had cut her shoulder length hair to reveal more of her face, no more hiding those sexy eyes behind a wall of bangs. "I didn't expect you so soon. Punctuality was never high on your list of priorities." Her tone is serious, but at least she smiling. You haven't seen her smile in a long while.
_____"A woman has a right to change her ways," you respond.
_____You lean in to kiss her, but Donna moves her head. "Don't you have something for me?" Taking a deep breath, you offer her the roses and stuffed bear. Donna rolls her eyes but lets you in.
