My mom and pops always taught to reach for the sky
To be a woman, have kids and marry and guy
But my Happily Ever After was all a lie
Prince charming is now my princess
And joy once wet is now dry
As I dry my eyes
The pains of reality sets in
The revelation that my life is a sin
And that a bond does not exist within kin
Thought there was just drama with the color of my skin
But alas, the world we live in
Now parents mournful and distraught
But fighting cause I feel there is a battle to be fought
Still I thought
That maybe there is another life for me
Something I can’t see, beyond the trees

The fallacy… burns at my lungs
