_____When you return to the living room, Carla is setting a dish of chocolate covered cherries on the coffee table. "I've had a lot of fun, but I've stayed out way past my bedtime. I need to get home while I'm still semi conscious."
_____"No, spend the night." A spark of hope fades a way when she adds, "It's my fault you are out this late and I don't want you to fall asleep at the wheel or anything." Well, at least she seems genuinely concerned about your well being.
_____"No, I don't want to put you out."
_____"It's no trouble. I'll just clear the stuff off of the bed in the guest room and you can pass out there."
_____"Guest room?"
_____"Yes. I know this place looks small from the outside, but it has two bedroom. Come on, you'll sleep well and breakfast will be waiting for you when you get up. Then again, at this hour, you may not wake up until lunch."
_____Damn, you think to yourself as you settle in for the night. Two bedrooms.
