(ODE TO D.)
__________by Spirit Sista.
A surreptitious glance asks an unspoken question
Head-to-toe perusal the beginning hint of a lopsided smile
An irreverent toss of her head cocky stare, false bravado
Out on the dancefloor careful, careful to not get too close
An accidental brush of the hips jolt of lightning, slow meltdown
Arms tightening around waists foreheads tilted to meet
Drowning and drowning in the waves we are each other's liferaft
A clasped hand leading me away is it too soon?
A flicker of indecision quickly erased with the light brush of your lips
Your long, lithe caramel legs wrapped around me heels diggin' into the small of my back
My tongue-slowly tracing your lips before plunging, deftly between them
Your undulating hips melded to mine unmistakably dancing passion
My head furrowing-bobbing and weaving between wondrous thighs in search of your juicy nectar
On my knees, my back in a gymnast's arch, beads of perspiration turn to rivulets on dark skin
Clumps of your bushy Afro clenched in my fist while I, white-knuckled, hold on
Your long, slender, tapered fingers inside me, drawing me outside myself, taking my breath away
My hot whispers in your ear trail down your body and into the air around us
YOUR FINGERNAILS CARVING BLOOD CANALS IN MY BACK, MARKING UNKNOWN TERRITORY
MY QUICKENED PULSE RINGING CHURCH BELLS IN MY HEAD, DROWNING OUT THE WORLD
YOUR HIGH, ROUND, AFRICAN ASS THRUST SKYWARD IN AN EFFORT TO RECEIVE ALL OF ME-
ALL AT ONCE
OUR FOUR BROWN EYES LOCKED IN AN EMBRACE, TEARS WELLING UP AT THE CORNERS
Finally your song-escaping through gritted teeth, ecstatic head thrown back
My back nestled into your stomach
Your arms around my body
Our legs intertwined
Your cool yet ragged breath raising downy hairs at the nape of my neck
Creeping dawn...
