I had searched for life times
through ten dimensions
past five seasons
without reason or cause
knew no face to the soul that gave me pause
understood little of love's laws
all I thought to be true
was obsolete when I saw the light of you.

Time had stopped
the second I saw your smile.
it was eternity plus a mile
I was feeling your style
I saw my destiny in your eyes
you was the burning between my thighs
explosive like fire to the skies

on a liquid night we died
together between satin sheets
we let our souls meet with chemical heat
in the mornings gentle hush
we had to admit
it was love at first touch
determined it would be enough
to begin our coupled quest
so begins the process

instead of bliss
it was unconditional stress
no longer at my best
in this new realm of commitment
couldn't see your pain with every lonely night spent
weeping
waiting
wondering
indulging in the thoughts of my infidelity

I told you that would never be me
for I loved you religiously
my words weren't enough to prove trustworthy
experiencing love blindly
actually loving you selfishly
It took a loss for me to finally see
I wasn't giving you all of me.
