__________by Renee Clayton

You ordered me on my knees while on a public street to kiss those feet.
Little did you know that I considered it an honor to scrape my knees on concrete for you.
(I would crush carbon with these knees to make diamonds for you.)

On my knees, I lived to worship you from the side of the tub in which you bathed.

On my knees, it happened so fast, but I remember you slapped my face...to make me angry, less inhibited, more likely to touch you with the right amount of force.

I love to be on my knees at the foot of your brass bed...

On these knees I sink to the floor to put the softest leather restraints tightly around your ankles... I spread your legs wide for me and chain you to the bed...

On my knees between your legs...you take my fist...you rule me...enslave me...possess me...don't ever let me go...wanna stay on fire-hypnotized inside you.

I wear your tattoo in the middle of my back but it has seeped through to stain my soul with you...but you wear my mark as well and what will stop me from making you surrender your very essence to me...right here in the palm of my hand...your eyes betray you as they plead with me to consume you...

But yet I am still very humbly on my knees because...

On these knees, between your legs, I have soared to supreme/unfathomable heights without ever stopping- without ever understanding-without even caring how fast and far I would fall if you ever said "No More!"

On these knees I have prayed to become more fearless, regretless, more open to the infinite possibilities which could exist in a normal-monogamous-everyday life with you instead of this torturous "same time next year" romance we have managed to keep alive.

When I am weary on my knees...my prayer is that you are not my soul mate or better yet that I am not yours...that the person that can love you with reckless abandon/without fear/without constraint/without condition and complication is just waiting to reveal themselves.

On bended knee with ring in hand, I want to offer you forever but I can only see past a few years.

I belong...on my knees...it is the appropriate penance for someone with such impotent faith in the longevity of passion and unconditional love.
