I hide behind the smile
that greets you each day
When alone I cry softly within myself
hoping no one can see my pain.
Sometimes I feel without an outlet I too will
go insane, You for me and me for you always
For better or worse...saying this was a curse
that has sealed me in a tomb
wishing I was back inside the womb
being cared for by mother
who assured me and loved me like no other
I hide behind the laughter
which seems to captivate a crowded room
no one is the wiser so this conceals my inner gloom
I hide behind the encouraging word I give
knowing that if table were turned silence is what you'd deliver
Will you be the one to find me,
comfort me in my times of need?
Until then.....I hide.
