_____It was a Friday and I couldn't wait to get off of work and enjoy my weekend.
_____ I just couldn't wait to get home and hop into a bubble bath and just sit there and enjoy. I had recently broken up with my girlfriend of 3 years and really wasn't feeling up to going out even if it was the weekend. When I arrived home I just looked at the empty three-bedroom house and right then I decided that I would go out and have myself a good time. Earlier that day my friend, Tasha, asked me to go out with her just to get out of the house. I turned her down but now I was changing my mind.
_____I got in the tub so I could get dressed and go out. I called up my friend and told her that I would go out with her. There was no point in me sitting at home just feeling sorry for myself. Tasha and I met at the local club and we just sat at the bar and had a couple of drinks. Finally Tasha went out on the floor to dance with a friend she saw when she came in. Right then a beautiful woman came up and sat right next to me. I mean she was so gorgeous. She had long jet-black hair, brown complexion and had the body of a goddess.
_____The whole time she was sitting there I wanted to say something to her but I just couldn't. I just couldn't think of what I wanted to say to her but I did know what I wanted to do with her. Of course we said our hellos but that was about it. I really wanted to know her name but I was too shy to ask. Tasha finally came back and asked me was I about ready to go and I said yeah. As we were getting ready to leave all I could think about was the woman at the bar. The person whose name I wanted to know so bad.
We were headed out to the parking lot and I started searching for my keys and I just couldn't find them. Just then out of the blue I heard someone call out my name. I turned around and right before my eyes it was my goddess whose name I didn't know, but somehow she knew my name. She told me that I left my keys on the bar. I had a keychain with the name CJ on it, which my friends called me. However, I still didn't know her name. I said, "thank you, but could you tell me your name?" She told me her name was Kia. _____A week went by without a word. I really didn't think I was going to hear from her. Until one morning I was awakened by the telephone and on the other the end I heard that oh familiar voice. It was Kia. "I'm sorry for calling you so early I just wanted to get in touch with you before you made plans". "I called to ask you if you would consider having dinner with me tonight". I said, "Yeah if you would consider having dinner at my house and let me cook for you". She agreed. "Would 7 o'clock be fine"? She said yeah that would be great. I gave her my address and she said that she would be sure to be there on time.
_____7 o' clock came and she was at my place. She had on a pink silk buttoned down blouse with black dress pants. She looked even more beautiful than when I first saw her. We sat down at the table, ate dinner and talked. After dinner we washed up the dishes together. "Dinner was delicious", she said. I said, "thank you." After washing dishes we went into the living room and watched television. Well, I wasn't really watching television as much as I was watching her. We talked some more and I just enjoyed being with her.
_____We were sitting on the couch talking about our relationships and what was going on. She told me that she felt real close to me and felt like she had known me forever. She felt like she could talk to me about anything. She told me she was in a bad relationship but she just didn't have the courage to leave her because she loved her. At least she thought she did. The more we sat and talked the more I wanted to be with her. However, did she feel the same way I did? I could only hope. I didn't want to ruin the relationship we had or were beginning to have.
_____After hours of talking and watching some television. We both decided that it was getting late and we would call it a night. As much as I wanted her to stay, deep down inside I knew that it wouldn't be. So we hugged goodbye and said our goodnights. I told her to call me when she gets home so that I would know that she made it home safely. I waited up but that call never came. So I called her and a hostile voice on the other end picked up.
_____"Hello!"
_____"May I speak to Kia"?
_____"Who the Hell is this?" she said. I told her my name and then she hung up. However as she was hanging up the phone there was arguing and fussing in the background.

_____Sunday came no word from Kia. I was worried but I didn't want to take the risk in calling and it would lead to another argument. I figured the voice on the phone was her girlfriend. Monday came and it was time to go back to work. When I got home from work I was exhausted and just wanted to crash. Later on that evening Kia called and apologized for her girlfriend's action. She was just worried about me and didn't know where I was. I asked her was she OK and she said she was but somehow I didn't think so. Kia and I kept in touch over the weeks, but I still wish it was more to us than friends. Sometimes we would meet and go have lunch and catch up on what was missed, and the whole time I just wanted to be with her. Although I didn't let her know that.
_____Another weekend came and I decided to go to the club just to get my mind off of Kia. Tasha and I went to the club and we had a pretty good time dancing and having a couple of drinks. To my surprise Kia and her girlfriend were there. Kia was not looking happy. So I went up to their table and said my hellos and introduced myself to her girl, Jackie. Not too long after a few more drinks and a little dancing with Tasha it was about time to go. I had asked Kia for a dance but she turned me down. Kia and Jackie were no where in sight when we were leaving. No telling how long they had been gone. _____As we were leaving out the door there were Kia and Jackie arguing. Then I saw Jackie slap her and before she could do it again I raced over there to stop it. Jackie and I were about to get into an altercation when Tasha stepped in. Jackie apologized and begged for Kia's forgiveness. The funny thing about it she did and I just didn't understand it. _____Although I was still mad I couldn't do anything but respect her decision. I offered to take her home but she said she would be alright. So we all went our separate ways but Kia was still on my mind.
_____When I got home I had calmed down a little but it was still on my mine. Finally I knew the reason I was so upset. I've been in love with Kia from the first time I saw her in the club at the bar and I wanted her to be with me. She was my choice I just wasn't hers. However, I would try to be there for her in any way I could.
_____The next day was pretty quiet with me still wondering how Kia was. I just decided to stay home and chill. Evening came I cooked me a little dinner and enjoyed it I might add. That's one thing I love to do is cook. I just didn't have anybody to cook for. After dinner I washed up the dishes and ran a bubble bath. After finishing up I went in the living room and watched some television. Somewhere along the way I fell asleep and all of a sudden I was awakened by a knock at the door. I went to the door it was Kia. She told me she had broken up with Jackie, because she was in love, true love, with someone else. I asked her who and just then she laid a kiss on me that I hadn't experienced for a long time.
_____She wrapped her arms around my neck and mine around her waist while she passionately kissed me and my knees buckled. I didn't know what to do but enjoy the bliss.
