________ by Nicholas Poet

even in death you can't give it to me
i thought it might be easier this way
cause while the we in you and me was alive
you didn't give it to me then
your refusal to hear me
your refusal to see me
the queen which you so lovingly
admired was actually nothing more than a fixture
to be placed amongst the rest of your remnants
of hurt and pain that existed
before she ever arrived
neatly placed upon a pedastal
allowed to gather dust
within the crevices of your mind
the queen has now become a burden
in excess which you wish to disgard
ignore that which you created
make it easy for yourself
just walk away like you did
like you do
over and over again
silence the heart of the queen
close your eyes
close your ears
close your heart
and just keep on walking
all the while realizing that
nothing can stop the love
but the human ego
the queen thanks you
for her freedom
atleast now she has a voice
an the ability to see herself
