by Marsha Blue

I called you for another reason
than what i actually said
i called to hear your voice
echo through my lonely head

i called to hear you words and
convince myself that you said "i love you"
and while my heart is silently aching
to tell you how much i am missing you

you speak in a tone with
no hint that you even care to miss me
i hang up swiftly to not hear you
say goodbye

i look at the receiver and wonder
will she feel me and call me back
i wonder till my heart begins to hurt
and i cannot run from the fact that u are my soul mate

confused days and hurtful nights
take me to your image so deep that
i dream of you when i am awake
and i kiss those lips deeply when i am asleep.
