Why is it that every time I go out to a mall after getting my hair done, people stare at me? Is it that they really admire my true beauty or are they just hatin’? Why is it that every time I go to the movies with my “girlfriend”, people stare at me? Is it that they really enjoy seeing two women together or are they just hatin’? Why is it that every time I hold hands with my “woman” in church, people stare at me? Is it that they’re really intrigued by the fact that lesbians can praise God just as “straights” or are they just hatin’? Why is it that every time I step into a restaurant because I like to eat, people stare at me? Is it that they really haven’t seen a “gordita” who looks as good as me and can flaunt it or are they just hatin’? Don’t hate when you see a girl who can walk down the street, holding her head up high after she has just spent $75 and half her precious day to look gorgeous for herself. Don’t hate when you see two women sitting next to each other at the movies sharing popcorn and a passionate kiss. Realize that they are human and deserve the same amount of respect as anyone else that is living and breathing. Don’t hate when you see a lesbian couple holding hands in church, praising God together. They have a right to serve the higher power that created them in his own image (and you know God makes no mistakes). Don’t hate when you see a thick girl eating in a restaurant, enjoying the meal that she spent her hard-earned money on. Realize that she is just expressing herself ‘cause she likes having a little ‘meat on her bones’ (and her girl likes it too). |
