(A Poem For Grace)
_____ by Rebecca Strait

The lust in your eyes did sweep
And confound me to forbidden pleasure
Even whilst I wrestles and tried
To resist your love beyond every measure
I tackled large serpents who charged
Before me in tumultous, turbulent seas
I climbed tight ropes and rocky mountians
Which scarred and scraped my knees
I battered down doors
And tore lustful images to shreds
I fought against the silk of my own sheets
In the sanctity of my own bed
I fought you like Jacob--day and night
And today, I thank God, that I admantly refused
To nibble into your false love appearing real
or to be tempted to touch, lick, or even take a bite....
