Recognizing responsibilities in being her other half
remember to call when I’m running late
thoughtful compromise to plan our next date
everything once mine is now known to be ours

the four letter word is excruciating heartburn in my chest
I ache to tell it but
It would be profane to utter it from my lips

Inexplicable intensity in everything I feel
to hate when we beef
to shed a tear over her pain
to miss her when she’s away

the four letter word is nauseating spinning in my brain
I want to yell it but
It would be profane to utter it from my lips

Experiencing unbridled desire whenever she’s near
to hold her, to kiss her
to lick her, to suck her
to ride her, to fuck her

the four letter word is a suffocating lump lodged in my throat
I long to moan it but
It would be profane to utter it from my lips

The four letter word, cursed into existence
It has candor
It has consequence

Profanely, I utter…I Love
