Azha Irving

A New York native, born in Harlem, Ms. Irving, did most of her grow-ing up in The Bronx, where she says, “Cultures converge here so beautifully it’s really broadened my aesthetic perceptions.” A self-taught artist, she has dabbled with most of the standard mediums but never found anything truer or more accessible than a plain No. 2 pencil. But, with the partial loss of her sight and the difficulties en-countered in returning to her studies at New York University, the love of learning transformed her into a computer junkie and it was only a matter of time before the art of technology drew her in. Ms. Irving comes to the field with a renewed sense of color, faith and the passage rites of womanhood, which she endeavors to represent in her now computer generated art.
